The 2023 Western Hockey League Playoffs are officially here for the Moose Jaw Warriors, as they kick off their first-round series on Friday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In all four games head-to-head this season, head coach, Mark O'Leary says that the Hurricanes have been a tough team to play against, which he believes won't change on Friday.

"The games against them this year were playoff-style games, they make you work everything that you get, especially through the neutral zone," says O'Leary. "They have tried slowing us down at times, and that's a big part of it. In front of both nets, they are hard and heavy and physical team so we will have to be ready in those areas.

The puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and Country 100 is the place to find all the action with James Gallo - the voice of the Warriors on the call.

If you're wondering if tickets are still available, the answer is yes, which can be purchased at the Moose Jaw Events Centre Box Office.

Tommy Vincent, Ava Nichols, and Molly McLean of Central Collegiate will represent their school and city at the Basketball Sask Senior Classic this weekend in Saskatoon.

Over to the NHL on Thursday, Montreal fell to Florida 5-2 at home, Ottawa got past the Flyers 5-4 in overtime, and Edmonton blanked LA 2-0.

And the Toronto Blue Jays opened their 2023 campaign with a 10-9 win on Thursday afternoon over the St. Louis Cardinals. They have the day off on Friday and will return for game 2 on Saturday at 12:15 p.m.
