The Moose Jaw Warriors pulled out a gutsy road win in Saskatoon on Wednesday night. Max Wanner scored the overtime winner to give the Warriors a 5-4 win over the Blades at SaskTel Centre, sweeping their home-and-home set and giving Moose Jaw four straight wins.

"I felt like Jagger Firkus out there just walking down and roofing it," says Wanner after Wednesday's win. It felt good for the confidence and to finally put one home."

The Warriors are now tied with the Blades for second place in the East Division. They head to Winnipeg on Friday to start a two-game set against the ICE starting on Saturday. 

Speaking of winning streaks, Moose Jaw's AAA Warriors extended theirs to three games as they doubled up the Yorkton Maulers 4-2 on Wednesday night at home. Dylan Duzan had a pair in the third period including the game-winner to move the Warriors into 7th place in the league standings. They will have the weekend off and return home next Wednesday when they host the Swift Current Legionnaires. 

In Moose Jaw high school basketball action last night...In senior girls' action, Peacock took down Central 55-45 and Vanier edged out Lumsden 53-51. In juniors girls' action, Peacock was 52-45 winners over Vanier.

Finishing with the NHL...Ottawa got past Pittsburgh 5-4 in overtime, Calgary lost 4-1 at home to Colorado, and Vancouver dropped a 5-2 decision against Tampa Bay.
