Vanier took down Lumsden 65-20 in Jr. Girls Basketball last night. Lumsden top scorer was Piper Norton with six points, Mckenna Schmidt with four points and Brooke Badger also scored four points. Tristan Smith scored 18 points for Vanier, Isabella Flanagan scored 16 points and Linda Ruberwa netted 10 points.

In Jr. Boys Basketball action, Peacock took down Vanier 79-59. Kaison Skeoch was the top scored for Peacock with 33 points, Nate Measner scored 13 points and Micah Coupland & Jack Redstone scored nine points each. Vanier's stop scorer was Walker Strueby with 17 points, Eli Mcfaddon scored 11 points and Marky Salva netted seven points.

South Hill took down Peacock JV B 74-32. The top scorers for South Hill were Matt Artavia with 18 points, Wyatt Craik netted 14 points and Cooper Gregor scored 13 points. Jessie Lesperance was the top scorer for Peacock netting eight points, Athon Anthony scored sic points and Brandon Blacket had seven points.

The 2023 Canadian Armed Forces Canada West Curling Championship get underway this afternoon. The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m. as Shilo takes on Moose Jaw. 15 Wing Moose Jaw is hosting the championship which will wrap up on Friday.

Last night in the NHL, the Winnipeg Jets edged out the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 and the Montreal Canadiens doubled up the Seattle Kraken 4-2.
