Only two days separate the start of the second round for the Moose Jaw Warriors, as they are taking on the high-flying Winnipeg ICE. The team will hit the road eastward to the Manitoba capital for Games 1 & 2 on Friday and Saturday night. The Warriors won the regular season series against the ICE, going 3-2-0-1, which included the team’s first-ever win in Winnipeg in their final meeting of the regular season on Mar. 22.

Things get rolling on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. MT and all the action can be heard on Country 100.

The series will shift back to Moose Jaw on April 18th and 19th and tickets for those two games are on sale right now at the Moose Jaw Events Centre or the Warriors front office.

Sticking with the WHL, Moose Jaw's own Bryan Thomson of the Lethbridge Hurricanes signed an amateur tryout with the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League on Tuesday. The 21-year-old netminder posted a 13-8-1-1 record in 24 games this season with a 2.64 Goals Against Average and .919 Save Percentage.

Moose Jaw's own Mykenzie Shymko is making history becoming one of three Canadian girls to ever take part in the European Box Lacrosse Invitational tournament. She will be playing for Team Germany in the tournament, which starts next week in Prague.
