The Liberals have once again decided to abstain from a vote in Parliament that could have forced an election.

The federal Conservatives have avoided another snap election.

The minority government introduced its mini-budget Wednesday in Parliament that included a one percent cut to the GST on January 1st and cuts to income tax.

The vote could have forced an election but the Liberals have once again abstained from the vote allowing the Harper Plan to pass with the NDP and Bloc opposing. The Liberals decided to abstain from the vote to avoid an election but have openly opposed the cut to the GST. In fact, Liberal leader Stephane Dion has said if his party wins the next election they will repeal the Conservative tax cut.

Last week the Liberals abstained from the vote on the Throne Speech, another vote that could have forced a federal election. Members of the NDP and Bloc are not to happy with the move by the Liberals saying Stephane Dion and his party are not doing their jobs as elected officials.
