**UPDATE: The tornado watch has since ended**

The City of Moose Jaw and surrounding areas are currently under a tornado watch.

Environment Canada issued a tornado watch for areas of southeastern Saskatchewan, with conditions having the potential to lead to funnel clouds and brief, weak tornados.

The watch is expected to last from late this morning until the early evening.

Potential landspout tornados could have the power to damage roofs, throw debris short distances, and knock over trees.

Environment Canada urges people to take cover if threatening weather approaches, in rooms without windows, such as a basement or a closet.
