The Moose Jaw Midget AAA Warriors and Saskatoon Contacts skated to a 3-3 tie Sunday afternoon at the Civic Center.

 

The Moose Jaw Midget AAA Warriors and Saskatoon Contacts played to a 3-3 tie Sunday afternoon at the Civic Center.

The teams skated to a scoreless first, and Saskatoon came out with two goals in the second to take a 2-0 lead.  John Calkins scored at 16:37 on the power play to pull the Warriors to within one before end of the middle period.

The Contacts scored an early power play goal to go up 3-1, but the Warriors battled back.

Brent Becker scored at 9:01 to put Moose Jaw back to within one, and with 39 seconds to go in the game, A-Jay Moore scored a power play goal to send the game into overtime.

Neither team was able to score in the extra frame, and it ended in a 3-3 tie.

Moore finished with a goal and an assist, while Troy Gasper had two assists.

Moose Jaw goalie Jesse Ehnisz made 24 saves on 27 shots.

The tie puts the Warriors record to 10-3-3-3, good for 26 points, one back of third place Prince Albert and one up on the Notre Dame Hounds and Saskatoon Blazers for fourth.

The Triple A's return to action Thursday when the Notre Dame Argos come to the friendly city.
