A 66-year-old Moose Jaw man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 2 at Buffalo Pound Lake Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 on the north side of the causeway when the man was driving a payloader, which is an industrial sized front-end loader. He was heading south, down the hill when the unit started bouncing. He lost control and collided with a northbound pick-up truck. The payloader then went off the road and tumbled down a 40-foot embankment.

Chamberlain First Responders were on the scene and found the man trapped underneath the windshield of his unit. He was taken to Moose Jaw Union Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pick-up was not injured.

A Moose Jaw driver is facing 2 impaired driving charges after a vehicle-bicycle collision late Wednesday night.

A vehicle collided with the cyclist around 10:15pm at the corner of 9th Avenue and Athabasca Street west The driver of the car was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provided a breath sample to police.

The cyclist received minor injuries and was and released from the hospital.
