The Moose Jaw U12 A Ice won a pair of one-run games Sunday in a doubleheader over the White Butte Storm at Optimist Park.

They won 6-5 and 5-4. Ice pitchers struck out 30 Storm batters on the day.

In the 6-5 early win, the Ice needed a three-run bottom of the seventh inning to claim victory. Kyra Menzies scored the winning run, as Kensington Demassi also had a pair of runs in the game. Marisa Montgomery, Avery Garthus, Demassi and Kiarra Adam struck out 13 while limiting the Storm to five hits.

In the second game, the Storm were batting last and nearly came from behind by two to win in the bottom of the seventh until Garthus iced the game with the bases loaded by earning the final out. Zoey Chesney had three RBI in the game, and Demassi struck out five.

Between the league and exhibition games, the Ice have a 14-5-1 record coming into the last week of the Regina season.

Their next action is tomorrow evening in Regina.
