Do you know the warning signs of dementia?  What about treatment options?  Did you know there are some things you can do to keep your brain healthy?

Those are just some of the topics being discussed Wednesday as the Saskatchewan Alzheimer's Society is hosting a public meeting to talk about the disease in partnership with West Park Crossing Retirement Community.

Alzheimer's Disease is an all too real thing for many families across the city.

"Come learn about Alzheimer's disease and related dementia, were going to be talking about warning signs associated with the development of Alzheimer's disease... and of course, the process of getting diagnosed," described Society First Link Coordinator Laura Hirtle.

She said people wishing to attend will be given supper at the event once the presentation is over. The deadline to register is Monday, June 27th but if there is enough interest, a second event could be planned.

You can register by calling West Park Crossing at 306-694-4744. It's located on 9th Avenue North West, just north of Thatcher Drive and begins at 4pm.
