Vanier is getting set for their first game of the year in the Moose Jaw High School Football League.

The Moose Jaw High School Football League is officially underway and it started with Peacock claiming a big win over Central.

The season continues this weekend after Vanier opened the season with a bye week. Needless to say, they're a little anxious to get going.

Vikings Head Coach Doug Panko thinks Vanier can compete with the other two teams.

"I think we'll do well. Saturday's game against Central I think we have two teams that are equally in a developing, rebuilding type of mode with a lot of young kids with some veterans."

The Vikings open their season Saturday at 1 o'clock against Central at Guthridge Field.
