A Warman company was fined $17,500 after being found guilty of a count against Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Norred Contracting, Ltd. was fined $12,500 with a victim’s surcharge for an incident that took place Aug. 2, 2017 at a workplace in Saskatoon when a worker fell through a staircase opening.

The company was found guilty under clause 124 (1) (b) of the regulations, which means they failed to ensure that any opening or hole in a floor, roof or other work surface into which a worker could step or fall is provided with a guardrail and toeboard, thereby causing serious injury to a worker.
