Deflated.  That's about the only way I can describe the feeling at a sold out Mosaic Place last night.  The Swift Current Broncos beat our Moose Jaw Warriors 6-0 in the 7th and deciding game of their 2nd round, Western Hockey League playoff series.

A record-breaking regular season with so much to to brag about had local hockey fans revved and ready for the playoffs.  It all ended too soon.  We so wanted a spot in the Memorial Cup next month in Regina.

The fact is, our boys were all beaten up.  We had guys playing with separated shoulders, torn ankle ligaments, bruised ribs and more.

And, give the Swift Current Broncos credit.  Their best players were better than ours and their big, tough guys played bigger and tougher than ours.

I don't know if you were listening but captain Brett Howden and winger Tanner Jeannot broke down in tears on the radio after last night's game.  They wanted to win.  Let's remember that before we criticize those young men today.
