The Moose Jaw Warriors gave up five goals in the second, losing 5-3 to the Edmonton Oil Kings Wednesday night at the Civic Center.

The Moose Jaw Warriors went into action Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oil Kings, hoping to erase the memory of Saturday's disappointing loss in Brandon.

The Warriors opened the scoring six minutes into the first with Giffen Nyren's first goal of the season.

That lead would hold up until thirty seconds into the second, as Edmonton's Brendan Dowd tied the game on the tail end of a power play.

The Oil Kings would go on to score four more goals in the second.

Brent Raedke and Robin Figren beat Warriors goalie Todd Mathews before the mid way point of the second.

The Warriors would pull Mathews for Joey Perricone, who ended up surrendering goals to Craig McCallum and Brett Breitkreuz, and Edmonton would take a 5-1 lead into the first.

The tribe went back to Mathews in the third and he would make six saves to keep the Warriors in the game.

The tribe found new life thirty seconds into the final period when Terrence Delaronde scored his third of the year.  Brad Riege would score his first of the season to pull the Warriors to within two, but that would be as close as they'd come, as Moose went on to lose 5-3.

The Warriors were 1/5 on the penalty kill and 0/3 on the power play (Breitkreuz scored shorthanded).

The loss is the Warriors second straight and dropped their record to 9-5-4-3, still one point back of third place Brandon.

Thursday the Warriors head to Alberta where they'll play a pair of game over the weekend.  Friday the tribe's in Calgary and Sunday afternoon they make a stop in Lethbridge.
