Moose Jaw Warriors personnel are in Calgary Thursday for the WHL's annual Bantam Draft as they look to bolster the roster.

 

The Moose Jaw Warriors and the rest of the Western Hockey League are loading up for the future as they select players in the annual Bantam Draft Thursday.

The Warriors are in good position to snag a lot of top end prospects.  The tribe owns the fifth overall pick, and has two in the first three rounds.  As the draft gets into the later rounds, the Warriors will make seven picks in six rounds.

This is the second time in the last three years that the Warriors have the fifth overall pick.  In 2005 they used they drafted Neal Prokop.

Last year the Warriors used their 17th overall pick to select forward Jutin Maylan and then grabbed defenseman Kevin Smith in the second round.

The Portland Winterhawks won the draft lottery and will make the first overall pick.  The expansion Edmonton Oil Kings get the third pick, Swift Current has the 9th, and Regina has the 13th overall pick.
