Back at home for the first time since January 27th, the Moose Jaw Warriors and Everett Silvertips battled hard for 60 minutes and when the smoke settled the visitors walked away from Mosaic Place with a 2-0 win.

The action was back and forth throughout the opening period as the Warriors and Silvertips fought for their opportunities.

Everett outshot the Warriors 15-7 in the frame and took a 1-0 at 10:18 when Noah Juulsen’s point shot was deflected by Devon Skoleski.

Moose Jaw had a strong start to the second period as they were able to pin the Silvertips inside their zone and force the puck towards the net, but weren’t able to sneak a shot past Everett goalie Carter Hart.

Midway through the second period at 10:13 the Warriors had a tough change and the Silvertips capitalized as they rushed up the ice, Connor Dewar rushed down the left wall on an odd-man rush and tossed the puck over the Eetu Tuulola going through the middle of the Warriors zone where he knocked in the Silvertips second goal of the game.

In the third period, the Warriors outshot Everett 15-9 and had quality chances in tight, but were turned away by Hart who picked up 31 saves as the Silvertips shutout the Warriors 2-0.

Zach Sawchenko was solid on the other side of the red line making 31 saves.  Everett outshot the Warriors 33-31 in the game and both teams were 0-for-3 on the power play.

Moose Jaw returns to action Tuesday with a Valentine’s Day battle against the Brandon Wheat Kings at Mosaic Place.  Catch all the action on Country 100 starting with the Westrum Lumber Timber Mart Pre-Game Show at 7:40 p.m.
