The Moose Jaw Warriors are back on home ice Wednesday night as they play the expansion Edmonton Oil Kings for the first time this season.

 

The Moose Jaw Warriors are back in the friendly confines of the Civic Center Wednesday night as they take on the expansion Edmonton Oil Kings for the first time this season.

The Warriors completed a five game road trip over the weekend that spanned over two weeks.  The tribe went 3-1-1, and are coming off of a 6-3 loss last Saturday in Brandon.

Third year Warrior Jason Bast goes in leading the Warriors with eight goals and 21 points, Jordan Knackstedt has nine goals and 19 points, and Joel Broda has nine goals and 18 points.  Warriors Captain Riley Holzapfel returned over the weekend after missing six games with a concussion, and had three goals and four points against the Pats and Wheatkings.

Former Calgary Hitmen Robin Figren leads the Oil Kings with six goals and 13 points, Brett Breitkreuz has seven goals and 12 points, and Brent Raedeke has six goals and 11 points.

Moose Jaw goes in with a 9-4-3-1 record, one point back of third place Brandon, three back of second place Swift Current, and four back of first place Regina.

Oil Kings are 8-8-1-2 this season, one point back of fourth place Kootenay, and three back of third place Lethbridge.  Edmonton's 4-4-1-1 in their last ten games, and currently riding a two game losing streak.
