Murray Willfong was born on a farm near Baildon, SK., (Sec.33, Tp. 15, Rge 26,W2 SK.) on April 23, 1922, and passed away at the age of 90 after a brief hospital stay and temporary placement in Extendicare Moose Jaw, at 5:45 AM on December 31, 2012. Murray is survived by one granddaughter, Jeanette (Terry) Schaffer, one grandson, Adam Vik; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tia Schaffer, all of Saskatoon; two brothers, Glen (Dolores) Willfong, and Harold Willfong of Moose Jaw; one sister, Bernice (Ray) Beaudette of Duncan, BC; many nieces and nephews; special friend Bea Hagley; and his many friends. Murray was predeceased by his wife Mary (Nikulak) in 2005, his daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Vik in 2005; his parents Oliver and Ethel (Bessie) Willfong, sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace (Bob) Taylor, Helen (Ernie) Statham, Myrtle (Albert) Miller, brother-in-law Raymond Beaudette and sister-in-law Joyce Willfong. Murray served in the South Sask. Regiment in WWII. Upon his return home, he continued with his employment with the CPR for a number of years; then from there was employed at the airbase until his retirement. A Memorial Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Della Ferguson will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Funeral Rites will be conducted by Chuck MacMillan.  Cremation has taken place and burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. The family requests no flowers.  A reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 268 High St. W. to follow the service.   Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Royal Canadian Legion, Moose Jaw branch.
