Grace Krusky

Grace Marjorie Krusky, nee Carlson, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2018 at age 81, at West Park Crossing in Moose Jaw, SK., surrounded by all her children. She was predeceased by her husband John Krusky, parents Ernest and Ella Carlson, brother Wesley Carlson and two of her grandsons, Craig Krusky and Derek Knudson. Grace leaves behind four daughters: Arlene Krusky, Colleen (Henri) Lemieux, Janet (Randy) Knudson and Coralie (Tim) Wolfe and one son Glen (Pam) Krusky; grandchildren: Nicole, Devin, Sammy-Jo, Shelley, Candace, Kayla, Tyra, Dallas (Tori), Brandon (Megan), Preston, Danika and Dalton, and great-grandchildren: Hallie, Tessa, Carson, Brooklynn, Ashton, Catalina, and Waylon. Grace was born on June 20, 1936 to Ernest and Ella Carlson (nee Ottesen) in Bengough, SK. She was the fourth child of six; Wesley, Esther and Elsie all older and Doris and Richard younger. She was raised on the farm southwest of Bengough until she graduated high school. She then got a job at the restaurant in Coronach where she met John. Grace married John Krusky on November 21, 1955. They made their home eight miles southeast of Coronach where they raised five children: Arlene, Colleen, Glen, Janet and Coralie. On the farm they raised grain crops, cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys. Grace also had a big garden every year which kept her very busy. In the mid to late ‘70’s, Sask Power started to build the power plant in Coronach and the crew who built the reservoir made their camp in John and Grace’s yard, which led to Grace being one of the camp cooks.1981 rolled around and Grace took a job as a nurses’ aid at the Coronach Hospital where she worked for twenty years. She really enjoyed her nursing job and was very close to the people she worked with and cared for. Grace had many grandchildren which she spent a lot of time with and cared for when necessary. She did her best to make it to as many events of theirs that she could, such as hockey games, figure skating carnivals, Christmas concerts, etc. After retirement, Grace enjoyed group trips to Regina to the casino and daily trips to the local gym. She also loved her flowers, a small garden and looking after her yard. Throughout her life, Grace enjoyed sewing, knitting and quilting. She liked to create things and keep busy. She was also a member of the Royal Purple. Spending time with her family was very important to her, and she always hosted Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. In 2017, Grace moved to West Park Crossing, an assisted living home in Moose Jaw, due to her failing health. Grace will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Rest in Peace Mom.
