Moose Jaw's Skylar Ackerman came up just short of a repeat at the Saskatchewan Under-18 Women's Curling Championship over the weekend in Regina.

Team Ackerman lost 6-2 to Weyburn’s Emily Haupstein in the 'C' Event final on Sunday to end her run at this year's championship.

Ackerman went 4-3 overall over the four days.

Haupstein went on to capture the provincial championship with a 7-5 win over Saskatoon's Madison Kleiter in the final on Sunday.

Over on the men's side, Team Philipchuk out of Moose Jaw went 1-3 and lost out on Saturday.

At the 2019 Master Women's Curling Provincial Championship, Moose Jaw's Lorraine Arguin lost in the final, 8-3, to Wadena's Delores Syrota.

Arguin went 5-0 during the round robin to advance into the weekend's playoff round.

The local rink -- which also features Donda Lee Deis at third, Kay Montgomery at second and Roberta Fonger at lead -- would pick up a 6-4 win over Syrota in the semi-final on Saturday but then lost the rematch in the final.

Two ends sunk Arguin during Sunday's final as she gave up three in the third and then Syrota stole four in the fourth to move in front 7-1.
