The Moose Jaw Bantam AA Warriors were on fire on Sunday afternoon as they rolled to a 7-1 win over the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League.

Nolan Jones opened the scoring for Moose Jaw with a power play goal just past the midway point of the first period and led the offensive charge for the Warriors, finishing with four goals and seven points in the win.

The Warriors led 3-0 after the first period with Logan Hauser and Jones picking up the other two goals. Then just 29 seconds into the second period, Noah Braun gave Moose Jaw a 4-0 lead with their third power play goal of the game.

Braun's second of the game midway through the third made it 5-1 for Moose Jaw and a pair of goals from Jones, one on the power play and the other coming with seven seconds to go in the game, gave Moose Jaw the lopsided win.

Jeron Kletzel finished with five assists in the win, while Jaxen Wiebe chipped in with three assists.

Bryan Thomson picked up the win between the pipes, making 27 saves for the Warriors.

Moose Jaw went 4-for-7 on the power play and were 6-for-7 on the penalty kill.

The win puts the Warriors' record at 3-8-3 on the year. They'll look to keep the momentum going when they head to Estevan on Sunday to take on the Bruins.

Bantam A Warriors Win 'B' Side

The Moose Jaw Bantam A Warriors set up shop in Kindersley for the weekend, coming away with a 'B' side win at the tournament.

The Warriors lost their opening game 12-5 to the Saskatoon Rebels, but responded by winning out the rest of the way.

Ethan Callaghan, Connor Lamb and Jericho Ross each scored twice in an 8-3 win over the Battleford Barons in the Warriors' second round robin game.

Clarke found the back of the net three times again in the Warriors' B side final, 8-1 win, over the Pierceland Panthers. Ben Peterson and Carter Benallick also scored twice in the lopsided final win for the Warriors.

In league play, the Warriors are currently sitting at 2-5-1 on the year. They're back on the ice next Friday when they host Weyburn at the Kinsmen Arena.

Midget AAs Drop Pair

The Moose Jaw Midget AA Warriors couldn't find their stride in a pair of games over the weekend in the South Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League.

The Warriors dropped two one-goal games, falling 2-1 to the first place Notre Dame Bantam Hounds on Friday night in Wilcox and then dropping a 3-2 game to the Swift Current Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon at Mosaic Place.

Dawson Kurz opened the scoring for Moose Jaw 4:21 into the first period on Friday night, but Notre Dame answered just under two minutes later to tie the game. The Hounds too the lead with a goal late in the second period and then held off Moose Jaw the rest of the way.

On Sunday, the Warriors again struck first early in the opening frame against the Hurricanes with Joey Prebushewski scoring his seventh of the season just 3:18 into the game.

Tristen Sulz tied the game for Swift Current four minutes later, but Moose Jaw retook the lead in the second period with a goal from Josh Bryant.

Two goals in the third period for Swift Current ended up sinking Moose Jaw as the Hurricanes dominated the final frame for the win.

The two losses drop Moose Jaw's record to 6-5-1 on the year. They'll look to rebound on Wednesday when they head back out to Wilcox to take on the Notre Dame Argos.
