A three-goal first period set the Moose Jaw Mustangs up well as they rolled to the Queen City Box Lacrosse League bantam division title on Wednesday night.

The Mustangs knocked off the Regina Titans 6-3 in the final on Wednesday to finish the regular season with a perfect 14-0 record in league play.

Josh Fitzpatrick opened the scoring for Moose Jaw just seven minutes into the game and Quinn Ingalls made it 2-0 five minutes later. Ingalls would give Moose Jaw a three-goal advantage with just 49 seconds to go in the first period.

That lead was much needed as the Titans started to mount a comeback in the second period, scoring twice in the first ten minutes to cut the Mustangs lead to 3-2. Nolan Jones gave Moose Jaw some breathing room in the final minute of the frame, scoring with 17 seconds to go to make it 4-2.

Fitzpatrick's second of the night made it 5-2 for Moose Jaw and Jones sealed the win, scoring with two minutes to go in the game.

The Mustangs will now turn their attention to adding a provincial title to their trophy case. They head to Saskatoon for that tournament next weekend.
