Blake Bargar Is Getting Used To Life Away From His California Home - picture courtesy www.mjwarriors.ca

Blake Bargar is a long way from home.  The Torrance, California native is in his first WHL season wtih the Moose Jaw Warriors.

The 16-year old Bargar was taken in the 7th round of the 2013 Bantam Draft and made the Warriors out of training camp in  September.  Close to half a season in, Bargar says he's adjusted well to being almost 3000 kilometres from where he grew up.

"It's not too bad being away from home, it's actually pretty fun," Bargar told us.  "I like it a lot.  The guys are great, we're all pretty close.  I love everybody on the team."

Bargar has yet to score a WHL goal, but does have 3 assists to along with 25 penalty minutes up to the Christmas break. He says he can feel improvement in his game.

"I've been playing well lately, I've been adjusting well.  But there have definitely been some points (in the season) that have been tough which, being 16, is going to happen.  You just have to prove yourself every shift."

The Warriors return to action this Saturday night as they host the Wheat Kings at Mosaic Place, then return for the second half of the "home and home" series Sunday in Brandon.
