The hardwood was busy on Monday night with five games around the city in the Moose Jaw High School Junior Basketball League.

There were two tight games at Vanier Collegiate as the Spirits secured a 36-32 win over the Riverview Royals in the junior girls' division.

Grace Waldenberger picked up a game-high 12 points in the win for Vanier, while Taylor Luciak chipped in with eight and Skylar Metz scored six. Eden Graves led the Royals with nine points in the loss.

The Vanier Vikings lost a close game to the Central Butte Bulldogs on their home court, falling 40-38, in the late game. Sean Armia scored 11 points, while Lorenzo Ramos picked up 10 points in the loss for the Vikings. C. Martep put up a game-high 19 points in the win for the Bulldogs.

Over at Peacock Collegiate, there was a pair of games in the junior boys' division.

The Peacock Orange Toilers picked up a 72-32 win over the Central Gold Cyclones. Dallas Erickson had a game-high 17 points in the win for Peacock Orange, while Bryce Baumann picked up 10 points. Ethan Nancarrow had six points to lead the Gold Cyclones in the loss.

Also, the Central Red Cyclones cruised to a 90-20 win over the Peacock Green Toilers.

At Cornerstone, the Falcons picked up a 58-20 win over the Peacock Orange Toilers in a junior girls game. Hinano Fujihira scored 23 points in the win for Cornerstone, while Eva Gray and Kenzie Behrns added eight each. Mya Viczko scored six points in the loss for Peacock Orange.

There are four games on tap for Tuesday night in the High School Senior Basketball League. The Peacock Toilers host the Assiniboia Rockets at 5:50 and 7:30 p.m., while the Central Cyclones travel to Caronport to take on the B.C.A. Cougars at 6:20 and 8 p.m.
