It was a busy day of golf on Thursday in Estevan as the 104th Amateur Men's Championship wrapped up at the Woodlawn Golf Club.

After getting rained out on Tuesday, the third and fourth rounds went off on Thursday with four locals making the midday cut to play in the final round.

Winnipeg's Charles Boyechko won the title by one stroke, finishing at two-over for the tournament and just edging out Prince Albert's Danny Klughart, who shot one-under par over the two rounds on Thursday.

Boyechko was helped out by a solid middle stretch that saw him shoot a three-under 69 in round two on Wednesday and a two-under 70 in the third round on Thursday morning.

Mike Flegel finished as the low local as he shot a pair of 78s during the final two rounds to finish tied for 20th. It's a bit of a disappointment for the local golfer after he sat in the top-10 following the first round thanks to 74, but he couldn't recapture that magic over the final three rounds.

Leighton Bearchell made a charge over the final three rounds and finished tied for 22nd. After posting an 82 on the opening day of play, he bounced back with a pair of 75s and a79. He shot 75 in the final round to finish one shot back of Flegel at plus-23.

Trevor Benson was tied for 35th posted an 81 in the final round to finish at 32-over for the tournament and Nathan Corrin came in 37th place, but put together a round of 76 to make the cut before finishing with an 85 in the final.

Nick Lepine missed the cut despite putting together a strong opening round of 75. He shot 91 and 81 over the next two rounds.
