The Moose Jaw Generals lost their second straight on the weekend when they lost 4-2 to the Notre Dame Hounds at Mosaic Place on Sunday afternoon.

The loss puts Moose Jaw at 6-5-0-1 this season in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

Cody Davis and Evan Sare had a goal and two points each in the loss.

The Hounds opened the scoring on a power-play goal from Keaton Sorenson with 40 seconds remaining in the first period.

They extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Zach Winslow 6:39 into the second period.

Davis’ 10th of the season got Moose Jaw on the board with 2:06 left in the second period. The Hounds would find the back of the net late in the period again, as Kenzie MacKinnon scored with 42 seconds to go in the second.

Sare pulled the Generals back within one early in the third period, but Moose Jaw couldn’t capitalize on a pair of power plays to tie the game.

Sorenson scored his second of the game into an empty net with 15 seconds left in regulation to finish off the win.

Moose Jaw ended up going 0-for-8 on the power play in the loss, while Notre Dame was 1-for-2. 

The Generals outshot the Hounds 40-35, as Reece Hodson made 32 saves in the loss.

These two teams will meet for a rematch on Saturday at Mosaic Place.
