The Midget AAA Generals finished off the preseason by splitting a home-and-home series with the Notre Dame Hounds on the weekend.  The Hounds won 2-1 in overtime on Saturday and then the Generals took a 5-1 game on Sunday at Mosaic Place.

The Generals got off to a quick start in Sunday's win with Ben Duperreault opening the scoring just under seven minutes into the game and then Trey Tendler quickly adding to that lead about a minute later.

The score stayed 2-0 until late in the second period when Moose Jaw struck quick again.  Cohen Yano scored on the power play with 3:50 to go in the period and Riley Cannon made it 4-0 heading into the third just 38 seconds later.

The Hounds got on the board in the third with Daniel Wanner beating Ryland Pashovitz, but Stephen Wilson sealed the win for the Generals with another power play marker with 11:05 to go in the game.

Pashovitz made 25 saves to pick up his first win of the preseason, while Eric Williams took the loss for Notre Dame, making nine saves on 11 shots in a period and a half.  Frank Cundiff allowed three goals on 20 shots over the second half of the game.

These two teams now get a week to prepare as they open the regular season against each other coming up on Saturday in Wilcox.  Moose Jaw's home opener is on Sunday against the Notre Dame Agros.

GAME NOTES:  The Generals were missing three players for Sunday's game as Regan Nagy, Rykr Cole and Shane Collins were with the U16 Team Sask playing in an exhibition game against the Beardy's Blackhawks.  There was no final score reported in that game.
