The Bantam Mustangs came out firing and were rewarded with an 8-0 lead after the first period as they cruised to the big shutout win.

"Our defence was a lot stronger today and we were collapsing on the ball more and our passing on offence and moving was a big help," said Mustangs forward Braxton Mac Angus, who posted a goal and three points in the win.

Nine different players scored in the win for the Mustangs with Ethan Johnson and Liam Fitzpatrick picking up two goals and three points each, while Carter Michaluk had a goal and three points, and Lucas Salkin also scored twice.

Brennan Watterson and Brennan Blatz finished with a goal and two points in the win. Dalton Cushway and Davin Williams had the other goals for Moose Jaw.

Mac Angus said that getting everyone involved was big for the team.

"It's always good to get a big win because it gets you up and then your next practice you're always running because to keep the effort up and get more games like this," he said.

"We were able to get lots of passing in and that's something that we need to work on, getting more passes and more good shots coming through the middle, so we were able to work on that after getting that lead."

The win puts the Mustangs’ record at 3-1-1 on the year. They're back on the court on Thursday when they host the Regina Honeybadgers at 7 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
