Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Cade Hayes picked up an assist for the Tisdale Trojans in a 4-2 win over the Thunder Bay Kings at the 2019 Telus Cup on Tuesday.

Trenton Curtis and Jayden Wiens scored third-period goals for the Trojans to help them hold off the host team.

Mackenzie Carson and Colby Vranai opened the scoring for Tisdale in the first period, but the Kings chipped away at the lead with Peter Hannula scoring in the second to make it a one-goal game.

Thunder Bay was able to pull even with a goal from Nicholas DeGrazia just 32 seconds into the third, but the Trojans answered back as Curtis scored just 1:02 later to restore Tisdale's lead and the win.

The Trojans are now 1-1 at the Midget 'AAA' National Championship in Thunder Bay. They will be back on the ice against the Halifax Macs on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
