The Hustlers came away with a split of their doubleheader on Monday night in the Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League.

The Hustlers lost 7-6 to the Colts in the first game of the double-bill at Caribou Heights.

Colts third baseman Keri Legare went 4-for-4 a triple, a run scored and an RBI, while outfielder Mel Hopkinson 1-for-3 with two RBI in the win.

Hustlers catcher Tanya McLean drove in two runs with a double during a four-run fifth inning. Shari Heath also drove in a pair with a single in the seventh, but the Colts held the Hustlers off for the win.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Hustlers bounced back with an 8-4 win over the Heat.

The Hustlers came out of the gate hot with seven runs in the first two innings as they cruised to the win.

Amanda Harper and Brittney Sperling each had an RBI-single in the first inning and then McLean cashed in three runs with a triple in the second inning.

Rachelle Grado pitched the Hustlers to the win, holding the Heat to four runs on six hits over seven innings. She struck out four and walked just one.

The league returns to the field on Wednesday with the Heat playing a doubleheader. They go up against the Colts at 6:30 p.m. and the Hustlers at 8:30 p.m.
