Curling-TankardJoel Jordison lost his first game at the 2014 SaskTel Men's Tankard in Shaunavon on Thursday.

After opening with a win on Wednesday, Jordison fell 6-3 to Scott Bitz out of Regina in the morning draw on Thursday.

Jordison opened the scoring in the second end, but then gave up three in the third and could never recover.  Jordison pulled within in one with a single in the fourth, but Bitz scored two in the sixth and one more in the ninth before the two sides shook hands.

The Jordison rink will be back on the ice on Friday morning at 8:00am as they take on Darren Camm in the B event quarterfinal.

Moose Jaw's Brock Montgomery and the Josh Heidt rink, out of Kerrobert, won 6-4 over Mike Armstrong and then beat Bruce Korte 9-8 in extra ends to move into the B event semifinal.  They'll be facing off with Bitz in the B event semifinal at 12:00pm on Friday.

The Brent Gedak rink – which includes Moose Jaw's Derek Owens at second – lost 10-4 to Darren Camm and fell down to the C event.  They're event will be on the line on Friday morning at 8:00am when they take on Terry Marteniuk.
