Four games hit the court on Monday night to mark the return of the Moose Jaw High School Junior Basketball League from the Christmas break.

In the lone girls game, the Peacock Toilers went into Central and knocked off the Cyclones, 82-40, to improve to 3-0 on the year. The loss drops Central’s record to 1-2 in the junior girls league.

Caitlyn Johnson poured in 18 points in the win for Peacock, while Caitlin Miller had ten and Sydney Measner put up eight. Katherine MacDonald led all Central scorers with 13 in the loss.

Central will return to the court next Monday when they travel to Central Butte, while Peacock will host Central Butte next Wednesday.

In the three boys league games, the Vanier Red Vikings scored a 97-30 win over the Central Butte Bulldogs. The win improves Vanier Red’s record to 3-0 on the year, while Central Butte falls to 0-2.

The Central Gold Cyclones also improved to 3-0, beating the Assiniboia Rockets, 102-32, to keep pace with the Red Vikings. The Rockets fall to 1-2 with the loss.

The Central Red Cyclones were able to secure an 82-23 win over the Vanier White Vikings. Central Red is 3-0 in the junior varsity boys league, while the White Vikings drop to 0-3 in the junior boys league.

The junior league is back on the court on Wednesday night with the Peacock Green Toilers hosting the Cornerstone/Riverview Royals at 6:20 p.m. and the Peacock Orange Toilers host Central Gold at 8 p.m. in the boys league.

Cornerstone hosts Vanier in the girls league at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.
