Moose Jaw's pee wee box lacrosse athletes will be coming back from nationals in Coquitlam B.C. with a great experience.

Dax Kalanuk, Nathan Bandet, Lachlan Clark and Ryder Gilroy and the Team Saskatchewan peewees went 0-4-1 in the round robin and will play in a consolation game against Manitoba Saturday.

While none of them were able to hit the scoresheet, they did learn a lot at the tournament.

Lachlan Clark, talked about what the team learned in the week.

“Just helping bring what our coaches here taught us and kind of bring that high level of lacrosse back to Moose Jaw,” Clark said.

Kalanuk is also looking forward to what he and the others will bring back to the Mustangs in the spring, and he also enjoyed the experience so far.

“You learn more, how to play and get good at lacrosse,” he said.

Saskatchewan lost 10-0 to British Columbia to start the tournament and then tied Manitoba 5-5 in the second game Tuesday. Sask took a 5-4 lead late in the third period but Manitoba tied the game with 5:50 left on the clock.

Their next closest game was a 6-5 loss to Nova Scotia after a pair of late goals by Saskatchewan, including one with 1:01 left in the game.

The bantams, which includes Carter Michaluk, went 2-3 in the round robin and will play in the playoffs Friday. Their last game was a 9-7 loss to Team First Nations.
