The Portland Winterhawks won the Western Hockey League’s Scotty Munro Trophy as regular season champions for the sixth time in franchise history.

Moose Jaw’s Reece Newkirk finished third in scoring on the team with 29 goals and 36 assists for 65 points in 55 games.

Newkirk is a 2019 fifth round draft pick of the New York Islanders.

It’s the first time Portland has won the trophy in seven years.
