Seattle scored four goals in the second period on nine shots and handed the Moose Jaw Warriors a 7-2 loss Friday at Mosaic Place.

Five minutes into the game, the Warriors pressed inside the Seattle line.  Alek Sukunda took a shot from the right line that went wide of the net and around to the left goal line where Brayden Tracey lifted to the back of the Thunderbird net for his 16th of the season.

The teams started the second period playing 4-on-4, just over a minute in the Thunderbirds worked a loose puck inside the left circle where a Warrior battling for the puck accidentally shot it into his own net, Nolan Volcan was credited with the goal that tied the game at one.

Seattle continued their hard physical style throughout the period.  Their fore-check kept the Warriors pinned and they were able to break up Moose Jaw clearing attempts for extra attack time.

Seattle took the lead at 9:18 on a goal from Andrej Kukuca, they went up by two at 13:39 when Sean Richards scored, and they made it 4-1 just under a minute later on a goal from Keltie Jeri-Leon.

Moose Jaw picked up an early power play in the third period and that led to Tristin Langan’s 32nd goal of the year.

Seattle didn’t let off the gas pedal for the rest of regulation, they added goals from Jarret Tyszka, Tyler Carpendale, and Andrej Kukuca and went on to a 7-2 win.

The Warriors will are back in action Saturday when they take on the Brandon Wheat Kings at Mosaic Place.  Tickets are available at, you can also catch the game on Country 100 starting with the PreGame Show at 6:40 pm.

This is the team’s final home game of January, coming up on Saturday they’ll jump on the bus and head west for a 7-game, 14-day road trip to the B.C. and Central Division.
