160 of Saskatchewan's finest Bantam hockey players are in Regina for the Saskatchewan  Hockey Association's 2018 SaskFirst Bantam Hockey Tournament.

The top 14-year-olds of the province will be at the Cooperators Centre in the Queen City for a weekend full of action before the New Year.

Tournament action begins Friday with 7 Bantam Moose Jaw Warriors players and one Moose Jaw product participating in the tournament.

Team #1, or the Green Team, has the roster with the most players from the Friendly City. The team features the Moose Jaw Warriors Defencemen Mitchell Parr and Hunter Bowes and Forward's Nikolas Smolinski and Carter Price.

It also features Moose Jaw-born Forward Garrett Hachey, who is currently with the Notre Dame Hounds. He reunites with the four other players in tournament action.

Heading into the tournament as lone Moose Jaw players will be Forward Braxton Hooper, a Forward on Team Black/Team #2, Chase Jocelyn, a Forward on Team Gold/Team #3, and Forward Brennan Blatz will be playing with Team Orange/Team #4.

Tournament action is already underway in the neighbouring city. Blatz and Team #4 play Team #5, they started at 12 pm. Team #3 and Team #7 face off at 2:30, Team #1 and Team #8 get at it at 5 pm and Team #2 and Team #6 begin at 7:30 pm.

Games continue in into Saturday and finals begin on Sunday.
