The Moose Jaw Warriors' lengthy U.S. Division road trip will finally come to an end on the weekend, but not before they face two final, very tough tests.

The Warriors will be in Everett on Friday night to go up against the Silvertips before finishing off the road trip on Saturday against the division-leading Seattle Thunderbirds.

So far on the trek, the Warriors have posted a 1-1-2-0 record after falling 6-5 in overtime against the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday night.

They will be in for a battle on Friday against a stingy Silvertips squad. Everett has given up just 43 goals against so far this season, which leads the Western Hockey League by 18. The Silvertips also don't score a lot with a WHL-low 52 goals for on the season.

By comparison, the Warriors have given up 81 goals so far this season, but have scored 91, which is third-best in the WHL.

The offence will need to be clicking for the Warriors on Friday night and it all starts with the fore-check according to rookie forward Landon Quinney.

“We need to be moving the puck quick, chipping it in deep and banging bodies down low, putting pressure on their defence to make mistakes,” he said.

Coming off their first win of the road trip on Tuesday in Tri-City and a narrow loss in Portland on Wednesday, the Warriors seem to have found their stride on the road after getting off to a shaky start.

The Tribe is hoping to carry that over into the final two games of the trek.

“Our confidence is pretty high right now,” said Quinney. “We see Everett and Seattle, two pretty good teams, but we feel like we can go in there and get some points out of them.”

Quinney, 17, is on his first long road trip in the WHL and he said it's been a grind so far, adjusting to so many games away from Mosaic Place.

“Especially the ones where you're road tripping overnight and then playing the next night in a new city, the legs aren't really there, but at the end of the day, you just have to get it done,” he said.

“I've been trying to help out anyway I can, penalty kill, blocking shots, fore-checking hard, going to the net hard and doing the little things.”

The Warriors did have a special treat on Thursday night, especially for Quinney and the other three Americans on the team, as they had a night off and were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.

“It was good to be back in the United States, especially for Thanksgiving, it worked out well that we had an off day and got to have a big dinner, so it was fun,” said Quinney.

It will be back to work for the Warriors on Friday and Saturday night however. You can catch all the action on Country 100 with Western Nissan Warriors Hockey, the Pre-Game Show is on the air at 9:10pm on Friday night.
