Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Jett Woo helped Team Canada to wins over Sweden and the United States to close out the 2018 World Junior Summer Showcase in Kamloops, B.C.

Woo had an assist for Canada in their 4-1 win over Sweden on Friday night and then they followed that up with a hard fought 6-5 win over the United States on Saturday afternoon.

Woo set up Halifax Mooseheads defenceman Jared McIsaac for the game's opening goal and London Knights forward Alex Formenton also scored in the second period to give Canada a 2-1 lead on Sweden after two.

Hamilton Bulldogs forward MacKenzie Entwistle made it 3-1 early in the third period and Joël Teasdale from Blainville-Boisbriand of the QMJHL scored into an empty net in the final minute to seal the win.

On Saturday, the U.S. opened the scoring on a goal from Joel Farabee just 3:58 into the game, but Flint forward Ty Dellandrea and Owen Sound forward Nick Suzuki scored to make it 2-1 for Canada after one.

Tri-City forward Michael Rasmussen, Entwistle and Oshawa forward Jack Studnicka scored three straight goals in the opening 7:22 of the second to make it 5-1 for Canada.

The Americans didn't go away though with Jay O’Brien and Noah Cates scoring over the final ten minutes of the second to make it a two-goal game heading into the third.

O’Brien picked up his second of the game 2:36 into the third, but Lethbridge defenceman Calen Addison responded for Canada less than two minutes later to restore the two-goal advantage.

Paul Cotter scored for the States with 2:34 to play, but that was as close as they were able to get.

Woo picked up two minutes for roughing and a ten-minute misconduct as part of a scrum at the end of the game.

This wraps up the World Junior Summer Showcase, the next step for the Canadian players will be an invitation to the selection camp in December before the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship in Vancouver and Victoria over the Christmas holidays.
