After another storm flew through Moose Jaw and Southern Saskatchewan Tuesday, the corner of Southwest Saskatchewan is under a wind warning today.

While moose Jaw is right on the edge of the warnings, wind gusts in Swift Current, Shaunavon, and Biggar are reaching up to 90km/h.

During last night's storms, some communities received major wind gusts. Val Marie had gusts up to 117km/h, Coronach 139km/h, and Manktota received gusts up to 141 km/h.

Catherine MacKay-Wilson is Town Administrator for Coronach.

'We were very lucky, we have some trees and branches down, some small damage but no major damage thankfully has been reported at this time."

"Provincial disaster relief called me first thing this morning and offered support for clean up and flooding, they said the wind was reported at 139km/h, but it blew kind of right over us."

MacKay-Wilson said she believed SaskPower's Poplar River Plant faced some damage, but we've learned damage at the plant was minimal last night.  We have word there were some power lines knocked down along the roads leading to the plant and some intermittent power outages but, at the plant, there was some damage to an overhead door and a few windows blown out but the plant is up and running today.

Below you can see photos of the downed powerlines near Coronach, as well as pictures submitted to Discover Moose Jaw from Byron Hudson. Hudson says his father-in-law farms south of Moose Jaw just off of Highway 36, and a barn on his property was destroyed in last nights wind.
