It will be a busy and hopefully successful weekend for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation as they are hosting a number of events as part of their Festival of Trees Weekend.

On Saturday the Festival of Trees will bring some early holiday cheer with its "Fire and Ice" theme, auctioning off trees to those in attendance.

Over its twenty-seven-year run the Festival of Trees has raised over $4 million for both the Union Hospital and the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

On Sunday, they have a little more planned. The Festival of Trees Brunch and Silent Auction will take place around noon. To appeal to the families across Moose Jaw and provide an affordable holiday season outing, Sundae with Santa is happening at 4 pm. Parents and children alike can enjoy a sundae, do some crafts, and see Santa.

Currently, the Foundation is working to purchase a brand new imaging unit for the hospital called a C-arm. This unit will help doctors performing general and orthopedic surgeries.

"The work that the Foundation is able to do at our hospital with those donations - that new C-arm is going to help thousands of people that need orthopedic surgery during its time... [It's] state of the art," Kelly McElree, Executive Director of the Foundation, explained. "It would not be possible without the support of people in this community, and that's the only way that [the C-arm] is going to get here."

Tickets for all these events can be purchased by calling the MJHF at 306-694-0373 or by dropping by the Heritage Inn or the Moose Jaw Health Foundation office at the hospital.
