The man at the centre of a crime spree back in spring has been given his jail sentence.

29-year-old Mitch Prosser from Moose Jaw was facing 15 charges after he drove his vehicle into a home and robbed and threatened to assault the female homeowner around 2 am on April 16th. He then proceeded to a second residence about two hours later, broke into the house, and robbed the woman inside.

Prosser attempted to flee from police and pointed a firearm at responding officers, but he was eventually arrested and has remained in custody ever since. No injuries resulted from these two incidents, and the officers at the scene were able to recover the firearm he used during the crime.

He was in court on Tuesday afternoon this week, where the Judge decided that he would be behind bars for the next six years, which will be five and a half as a result of time served. Prosser was convicted of four charges including committing assault of a peace officer, threatening to use a weapon, and two counts of break and enter. The remaining 11 charges are now considered stayed.
