The Saskatchewan Medical Association President and Vice President's Tour stopped at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw on Thursday.

The annual meeting was one of 12 stops as the president and vice president tour the province to hear from local physicians.

Saskatchewan Medical Association president, Dr. Siva Karunakaran, said one issue of importance to the SMA is physician health and wellness, and they want to deal with it at the public health level, at the provincial level, and at the family doctor level, in order to prevent “burnout.”

The SMA's 2018-2022 strategic plan has identified physician wellness as one of their four priorities.
