With a sold-out gala of 382 tickets, it was the third annual Greek Night on Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Greek Night raises funds for the Downtown Moose Jaw Association and Tourism Moose Jaw – two organizations which seek to present Moose Jaw at its best to visitors to the city. John Iatridis, Jacki L’Heureux-Mason, and Gabi Belanger led the planning committee for the event.

Guests were treated to appetizers including Greek meatballs, spanakopita, and pita bread with tzatziki.

Costa Maragos was the Master of Ceremonies, donning a Warriors jersey for game 2 of the WHL championship final.

Dinner was preceded by a show of Greek dancing, with the Greek band, Arkadia, playing while people ate.

Daughters of Penelope Kronos Hellenic Dancers took up the dancing after supper, which was accompanied by a round of plate-breaking, before Wonderland took to the stage to provide music for the crowd to dance.

Fundraising efforts during the night include a game of “Rack or Rump,” a silent auction, and a live auction. Live auction items included a Homestand Hometown Package (winning bid $1,000), Warriors Suite package (winning bid $3200), Cask 82 Experience (winning bid $4,000) and Mad Greek Experience (winning bid $5000).

The grand prize was a $7500 travel voucher to Marlin Travel, which was won by Travis Schmidt.
