The Moose Jaw Canucks finally found their way into the win column on Sunday morning at Ross Wells Park.  They picked up a 3-2 win over the Pilot Butte Broncos for their first win of the season.

Starting pitcher Andrew Hill was a big part of that win, he went the complete seven innings, giving up only two runs in the first two innings, while striking out seven and walking only the first batter of the game.

The Broncos got out to an early lead, as lead-off hitter Mike Regher came around to score in the first inning.  He walked, stole second and came around on the next two groundouts.

They extended that lead to 2-0 in the second inning as they picked up back-to-back singles off Hill.  That would be all the offence the Broncos would get for the rest of the game though as they picked up just two hits over the next five innings.

The Canucks picked up just three hits in the game, but took advantage of the Broncos pitchers as they issued six walks in the game and starter Justin Wennberg hit two batters in the first inning.

Kaleb Wilson picked up a lead off walk in the second inning and the next batter, Kyle Wilson brought him in to score with an RBI double.  Wilson then also came around to score later in the inning to tie the game at 2-2.

The Canucks would take the lead in the third when Jon Brooks reached on an error by the third baseman.  He advanced into scoring position on a single by Kyle Wilson, and finally came around to score the go ahead run on an error by the third baseman.

That lead would hold up for the Canucks as Hill shutdown the Broncos the rest of the way.

The win improves the Canucks record to 1-3 on the season.  They get back on the Thursday against the Regina Pacers.  First pitch is at 7:00pm at Ross Wells Park.
