Ok, Blue Jays, Let's Play Ball!  The Toronto Blue Jays, Canada's team, are in the Major League Baseball playoffs for the first time in 22 years.

They truly are Canada's team.  There are sports fans from coast to coast who love the Jays and we're getting sentimental about it.  Social media and blogs are full of comments from folks who wish their parents were still around to see this happening this fall.  My late father would have been loving this.

I remember the spring of 1977 and the Blue Jays first ever home opener.  I think he let me stay home from school for the afternoon because I think he stayed home from work, as I recall.  I remember the excitement and the national telecast on CBC.  I think we still had our black and white TV.  I remember Don Chevrier calling the action and my Dad and me laughing in disbelief when it started snowing at Toronto's Exhibition Stadium.  I can also remember Anne Murray singing O Canada.  She was wearing a red parka.

The Toronto Blue Jays have provided us with many memorable moments since that cold, April day in 1977, including back to back World Series Championships in '92 and '93.  Who knows, they might win it again this year.

For the record, I'm not on the bandwagon.  I was an Expos fan.  I want them back.
