A big guarantee by Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Chamblin after practice on Wednesday at Mosaic Stadium as he challenged his defence to be better this weekend against the Calgary Stampeders than their Week 9 meeting.

"I'll put the guarantee in the paper that Jon Cornish better not get over 100 yards rushing," boasted Chamblin.  "If he does, somebody won't be on the field come next week.  We're going to make a concuss effort to stop the run.  If he's going to run the ball, he better be running through six tacklers on his back."

The bold statement for the Riders head coach comes after Cornish almost single handedly beat the Riders in the last meeting between the team teams at Mosaic Stadium back on August 25th.  Cornish torched the defence for 159 yards rushing in that game.

"The guarantee is that he better not rush for 100 or it will be guaranteed that somebody will be leaving after the game."

The other big news out practice on Wednesday was that quarterback Darian Durant's injury situation looks to be improving as he was back on the field taking a few snaps with the first team offence.

Durant missed last weekend's game in Montreal due to a hip flexor injury suffered in the Banjo Bowl.  Durant says he's feeling better, "The hip is feeling a lot better.  Coach just sat me out (of practice) just to give me an extra day of rest.  I feel a lot better than I did last week, so I expect to be out there on Sunday.

"It's crunch time, so now is not the time to be complaining about nicks and nacks and things like that.  If I can go, I'm going to go, and I feel good right now, so if I continue progress throughout the week, then I'll be ready to go."

Chamblin didn't want to committ to Durant being in the line-up just yet, saying he also wanted to see how the rest of the week went before making a decision, "The chance of him playing is better than last week.  I don't want to put a percentage on it, but I'm very confident that he may play this week.

"He feels pretty good right now, but it's just him not having a set back.  Desire is one thing, but we've just got to make sure that his body is agreeing with what his mind wants to do."

Durant adds that he won't play if he isn't capable of playing his game, "I just don't want to put my team in a bad situation and Drew (Willy) has done a pretty good job of giving us a chance to win, so if I feel like I'm hurting the team, then I wouldn't step out there."

Durant will have another chance to test things out on Thursday as the team returns to the practice field at Mosaic Stadium.  They host the Calgary Stampeders coming up on Sunday at 2:00pm.
