We’re into the second and final day of the STARS Critical Care on the Air Radiothon on 800 CHAB and Mix 103.

The radiothon is running from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. After one day, over $161,000 has been raised.

The goal is to raise $500,000 for the critical services that STARS supplies. Along with operational costs, STARS is also hoping to purchase two cardiac monitors for the Regina and Saskatoon bases.

Each year, the Province of Saskatchewan funds $10.5 million for STARS operations, while another $105 million must be raised by STARS themselves.

The radiothon features six VIPs, or Very Important Patients, all who have needed the assistance of STARS or had a loved-one that needed STARS.

The VIP's include Milt Mastad, the Brons family, Bonnie Fortin, Brynleigh Yewsuk, Carrie Derin and Shaylee Belke. More information can be found here
