A date has been set for the much-anticipated Moose Jaw Wakamow Saskatchewan Party nomination meeting.

The Sask Party will be selecting its candidate for the riding on Feb. 1, 2024. The time and location of the meeting has not been announced.

There was a lot of anticipation over this meeting after Megan Patterson announced this past summer that she was seeking the nomination. At the time, it was believed that it would be a contested nomination against current MLA Greg Lawrence.

However, Lawrence announced in September that he would not be seeking re-election as he recovers from injuries sustained in a serious motorcycle accident in early August.

The NDP has already named Melissa Patterson as their party’s candidate in the next provincial election.

The next provincial election is slated to take place on or before Oct. 28, 2024.
