The Rate Review Panel has decided the hike to SaskEnergy rates is justified. Now the government must give its approval.

The announcement was made a few weeks ago and Monday the provincial Rate Review Panel agreed with SaskEnergy and recommended a bump to natural gas rates in Saskatchewan.

The increase will be 37 cents per gigajoule translating into about 5 dollars a month more for the average household.

The provincial government must still give final approval on the move to higher prices.
