One positive from all the rain we've had this spring, yards around town are looking greener then ever, but do you have the best yard in town?
The City of Moose Jaw's Beautification Awards are back and it's time to recognize Moose Jaw's outstanding properties, both residential and commerical.
"We have Best Restoration, Rejuvenation or Renovation, which recognizes older properties where landscape has been drastically changed or improved, they also have one for Best Planters or Balconies, which is for people who live in apartments," says Parks Gardner Daily Lennox.
There's also awards for Best Xeriscaping and Overall Residential Property.
Lennox adds that there is also a pair of awards for businesses, "we have Best Commercial Frontage Display, which recognizes plantings and baskets done by commercial businesses such as downtown and the mall. That's probably more the container gardening that they have at just the store fronts. The Best Commercial Business would be the whole property. So, it's going to be the businesses with larger frontages that maybe has some grass or trees."
